After completing his studies in mechanical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, Tan has accumulated 9 years of experience in the semiconductor equipment industry with Applied Materials and 16 years in the subsea oil and gas equipment industry at National Oilwell Varco (NOV). During his time as a subsea project engineer at NOV, he also spent 5 years teaching 3D CAD at the University of Houston. Currently, he serves as a technical instructor for NOV. Tan is deeply passionate about spatial visualization skills, problem-solving, and hands-on training methodologies. As a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in Texas, he has earned two utility patents and developed expertise in Creo Parametric 3D CAD software and 3D prototyping. Additionally, he holds a public speaking certification from Toastmasters International.
